Liam came home after school and reached into his backpack for his house key. It was not there. He checked every pocket, looked inside his lunch bag, and even searched the ground near his front door. The key was gone.
Then he remembered something. On his way home, he had stopped at the playground to watch his friends play soccer. Maybe he dropped the key there. Liam decided to walk back to the park to look for it.
He carefully checked around the benches, the swings, and the path. At first, he saw nothing. After a few minutes, however, he noticed something small and shiny under a bench. It was his key!
A kind woman sitting nearby smiled at him and said, "I saw it earlier. I hoped the owner would come back for it."
Liam thanked her for watching over it. This time, he put the key inside a zippered pocket so it would not fall out again.
When he finally reached home and unlocked the front door, he felt happy and relieved. It had been a stressful afternoon, but everything ended well.
From that day on, Liam always checked for his key before leaving the house, and he never lost it again.
